Über Susanne Hochs abstrakte Malerei
In her works, Susanne Hoch uses the line as a crucial means of expression. It represents both the dynamic, energy-charged aspects on one hand, and the delicate, sensitive, intertwining qualities on the other. For her, the line is a trace that originates from the surface of the canvas, catches attention, softens, and eventually fades away. Throughout the creative process, line-based forms resembling figures emerge, each placed within specific emotional contexts that relate to one another. The color-structured background sets the fundamental atmosphere, serving as the stage on which these figures perform and make their appearances.
Susanne Hoch’s abstract painting engages the viewer directly. The energetic lines dramatize the actions depicted, and encounters are often portrayed in a compelling, dynamic manner.
