Our Story
Vincent van Gogh is today one of the greatest icons in art history. Yet during his lifetime, he never received the recognition he deserved. What if he had been given the support he needed back then?
Inspired by this question, our team is passionately committed to contemporary artists – helping them gain visibility and recognition.
With over 30 years of experience, more than 600 talented artists, and just as many dedicated companies across Europe, our concept speaks for itself.
How it all began...
Almost three decades ago, Michel Brancart had an idea that was as simple as it was revolutionary: art should not remain confined to museums and galleries – it should be part of everyday life, right in the heart of companies. With this vision, he founded Little Van Gogh in Belgium and created a concept that makes contemporary artists visible while transforming workplaces.
Early on, he found companions – among them my father, Oscar Constantin Goossenaerts, who brought the concept to Germany. Together with Harry Pietschnig, he made Little Van Gogh Germany a success and won numerous renowned clients – including Siemens, Telekom, Allianz, Debeka, Engelhardt, Rödl & Partner, PWC, Daiichi Sankyo, and Lichtblick, to name just a few.
With partners in several European countries, a vibrant network emerged: today, Little Van Gogh represents more than 600 artists and brings their works into companies all across Europe.
His guiding principle has always been the same: art brings colour, conversation, and inspiration where it is needed most – into the spaces where we live and work every day.
Michel Brancart is the founder, visionary, and heart of Little Van Gogh. With his passion, he created not just a company, but a way to make art democratic, accessible, and alive. His legacy continues in every exhibition – in every painting that inspires and in every space that art transforms.
Today, the continuation of Little Van Gogh Germany lies in second-generation hands: Christina and Gernot Goossenaerts now lead the company together with Harry Pietschnig. We see ourselves as part of a story that Michel began, my father helped to shape – and which we now carry forward with respect and gratitude.
