The artist on her seascapes: "In addition to aesthetics and creative work, my artistic work is always about finding, examining, researching, showing, but also about creating and ultimately resolving areas of tension. This can happen, among other things, in the interplay of colors or be expressed through shapes or materials. This basic theme is a clear feature of both my painting and my sculptural works, for example those made of steel and paper. The mostly abstract works are therefore always about the innermost human: relationships inside and outside, pressure and counterpressure, the tender and the hard - polarities of life that constantly concern us all. In the chronology of my works, people are always the focus, even in their absence. It seems only logical (consequential?) that after many years of working predominantly abstractly, human figures increasingly begin to populate the pictures, almost mystically, but nevertheless as if it were natural." The maritime sea paintings by Agnes Immelmann immediately awaken the longing for art.
