Biography of Carsten Breuer
Born in 1966 in Fritzlar, living in Essen since 1969.
Attended Gymnasium in Essen
Apprenticeship as a graphic designer at E/P-Hennig in Düsseldorf
Worked at the Michael Schirner Studio in Düsseldorf
Additional training as a lithographer at E/S/N in Düsseldorf
Professional Career:
- 1995: Founded his own company, B&B Design, in Wuppertal
- 1998: Co-founded the advertising agency Substanz in Essen (received several awards for direct mail during this time)
- Since 2001: Owner and founder of B4 GmbH
- Since 2017: Returned to art

About the art of Carsten Breuer
Pop art is Carsten Breuer’s home, and his works are displayed around the world. Madrid, Barcelona, Miami, Basel, and Monaco are just a few of the locations where his exhibitions have been held. In 2023, he was awarded at Art Basel for his piece "Sophia," and in 2024, he received another award at Art Basel for the piece "Burger on Moon." He not only paints traditionally in acrylics with a brush but also works with large-format silkscreens and the almost forgotten technique of screen printing. By combining classic acrylic painting with screen printing, he creates unexpectedly vibrant and dynamic motifs in formats starting at 120 cm.
