Manfred Küpper
Painter from Deutschland
"Jedes Kunstwerk ist eigentlich eine Skizze, die erst durch unsere Fantasie vollendet wird." - Sigmund Graff
Biography of Manfred Küpper
The first pictures I painted with acrylic paint on canvas were bulls. I first primed the canvas, but also painting surfaces such as wood and aluminum, with a paint and, after drying, applied another pasty acrylic paint unevenly to the canvas using a spatula. I then scratched the outline of a bull into the still-dry paint with a sharp object - usually the wooden handle of a brush. I exhibited the bull pictures in two galleries in Cologne and also in the Eifel. It turned out that these pictures were very popular with art lovers and were often in demand.
I later "refined" this minimalist style of painting.

About the art of Manfred Küpper
The whole bull was no longer visible, but rather paintings with portrait-like head studies. The respective bull heads are pre-painted with charcoal and oil pastels and later completed with a brush and spatula. The focus is not on a lifelike, exact reproduction of the bull, but rather on a more expressive style of painting, which in my opinion is suitable for reflecting the characteristics of these animals, such as strength, dominance and courage.
