About the art of Margit Bilke
In this series of images, the artist addresses the threat to wildlife. Due to climate change, pollution, and increasing urban development, humans are taking away the habitats of animals. Animals in Antarctica are particularly endangered, with some species of penguins facing extinction. Polar bears are also suffering from climate change, as they hunt for their prey on the ice, which often can no longer support them. Animals in our latitudes are also finding less and less space to live due to agricultural monocultures and expanding settlements.
