About the art of Gudrun Besler
In this exhibition, Gudrun Besler presents us with a series of figurative paintings ranging from images of people and views of houses to landscapes. In her works, which are created in sessions, from sketches or photographs, the artist always seeks a symbiosis between people and painting; art means nothing to her if she is unable to establish a connection on the level of the unconscious between the person who created the work of art and the person who perceives it. She has always been on a quest, experimenting with the real representation of figurative painting, and has succeeded in developing an unmistakable visual language and varying it in many different ways. The artist’s central motif is always the human being. She portrays people who are close to her.
