About the art of Pascal Mathe
The French artist Pascal Mathé has discovered his unique form of expression in representational painting. For his **modern oil paintings**, he draws inspiration from the flickering virtual images emitted by televisions and computer monitors. His canvases aim to bear witness to the seduction of his optical perception: lacking clarity, blurred focus, distorted representation, misleading framing, and saturated, unreal colors.
Mathé skillfully captures the restlessness of moving (urban) images by "shock-freezing" them into a single moment through the haze of blur, captivating the viewer’s gaze.
