About the art of Renate Magrean
Renate Magrean’s Painting
Renate Magrean’s artwork reflects the transformation of inner states and experiences with nature. Her paintings embody an aesthetic quest that combines delicacy and sensitivity in her use of color. Inspired by the landscapes of the Eifel region, her work captures moments of happiness found in encounters with nature. Magrean addresses the wounds inflicted on nature by humanity, restoring them to an idealized state of pristine natural beauty.
Prof. Michael Schulze emphasizes that Magrean’s work portrays landscapes without seeking to define them, allowing art to follow its own laws. The interface between nature and art becomes the landscape itself—a medium to make the world and the self tangible. Her paintings translate transience into permanence, becoming frozen moments that reflect both our imagination and the infinite space of our consciousness.
Dr. Josef Gülpers describes Magrean’s landscapes as an invitation to surrender and embark on a journey. Her works draw the viewer into the unresolvable distance between longing gazes and a world that remains beautifully unfamiliar.
