Biography of Lucas Wanckel
My name is Lucas Wanckel, I’m 33 years old and grew up in Berlin. To support my life and studies, I work as a nurse. My creative journey began with a fascination for graffiti.
Since the age of 15, I’ve independently explored letters, colors, and forms in my free time. I started painting canvases more often as a way to create personal gifts for family and friends, and through their positive feedback, the idea grew to share my art beyond just those close to me.
Two years ago, I discovered *Little Van Gogh* online, and that’s when I began working on this series.

About the art of Lucas Wanckel
For me, big cities especially in the evening and at night. have a special atmosphere that fascinates me, particularly because of the colors. I try to capture this feeling in my work.
Since the urban scenes are painted with watercolors and heavily diluted acrylics, I have only limited control over how the colors flow and blend. Each painting becomes a new experiment.
In contrast, bold black outlines give shape and definition to the objects.
