Biography of Reinhard Carl Failer
He was born on February 12, 1964, in Neuwied Engers in the Rhineland. He is a German painter and private art collector.
In 1968, Failer accompanied his father, the art dealer Carlheinz Failer from Neuwied, on his travels to visit many artists. During this time, Reinhard Failer was particularly supported by the Eifel painter Professor Franz Winter and the Polish artist Jerzy Pogorzelski, who discovered his artistic talent. This led to various courses and study trips during and after his school years, including trips to Tuscany, Spain, and North America. He completed training as a gilder, church painter, wood mechanic, and glass painter.
Since 1978, he has painted in various styles under several pseudonyms, including Carl Neon, creating abstract paintings, expressionist landscape paintings, photorealistic works, installations, performance films, vehicle designs, and sculptures. His works under pseudonyms have been exhibited and offered in numerous galleries both in Germany and abroad.
In 1985, he met Franz-Bernd Becker, Win Braun, Hartmut Ritzerfeld, and Emil Sorge, graduates of the Düsseldorf and Braunschweig Art Academies, who later formed the group of Eifel painters. Failer collected numerous works from the group.
Until 2014, he sold all his privately collected and self-painted artworks to a collector and major investor.
In 2019, he founded the group "The Josef Boys" with F. B. Becker. Together, they work on impressions from the media world in the changing styles of art.
Today, many collectors and art speculators both in Germany and abroad value his works for their high artistic quality and consider them a meaningful and good investment.
